Busy Mom's Can Eat Clean

It's time to plan my work, then work my plan. I will be doing a modified version of Ann Louise Gittleman's version of the Fat Flush Plan. I will document my modifications, my journey and my results here.

My goal is to change my body composition vs loosing a specific amount of pounds. I would like to lower my body fat percentage by 5% by May 2010. This means I need to do two things:

  1. Weight Train

  2. Eat clean

Since I have the schedule from hades, I have to have a plan or this it simply will not happen. I am great about doing morning cardio, but weight training is what I need to kick my metabolism up a notch or three!

I suspect my gym traffic is clearing up a bit; Its about time for the New Years Resoultion crowd to start falling off since its about 6 weeks out from January 1st.

This is my goal:

Busy Moms Eat Clean Blog

I know the best way to change a habit or better yet to learn is to teach or in my case write. I will be blogging about clean eating for the year 2010.

This blog will have a twist, it will be about clean eating from the perspective of a mom with a 12 year old -"The Boy" who has 3 days of Taekwondo, Bible study and various other activities during the week which makes eating clean for both of us a challenge to say the least. I find that it requires thought and planning which I must sit down and make time to get it done. I have been hit and miss this previous year, 2010 will be my hit year.

Stay tuned. I promise this will be good!

Marvin Gaye - Looks into our Future

I just downloaded Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) - It's clear that Marvin was visionary. Too bad he couldn't tame his personal demons because we need his voice of reason today.

How Does This Thing Work Again???

This site used to have a crazy complicated way I had to add photos in the past. I know a little more HTML now so this might actually be fun, I can get creative! I want to write some blogs about weight loss, and nutritional supplements. I have learned so much over the years, what works, what doesn't. I need to document it somewhere.... might as well be here...

I can also write about my hair journey! The two are actually related in a strange way. I didn't think I could have beautiful long natural hair and be active at the same time. In the past it was definately harder because we didn't have faux ponytails and access to Instant Weaves, etc. Now there are many styling options that will allow me to be active and maintain nice hairstyles at the same time!

This is my hair now. I had to do a big chop because I abused it by wearing braids back to back to back to back never letting it rest. I wore the braids because they allowed me the freedom of working out without worrying about my hair. This is the price I am paying now. I have to hide my hair for about a year before it will be normal again. I've never worn my hair short...it's not becoming on me in my opinion.

Thanks to the LHCF, I am actually enjoying this journey. I put it off for so long because I didn't know what to do... Not only have I learned how to nurture my hair back to health at the LHCF but I have come to meet some dynamic beatiful sisters from all over the country, abroad! How cool is that!! So now I have a place to plop pictures of my progress. Cool!

Weavy Woman!

I was pretty lean back then...I'm on my way back but I don't want to get too gaunt in the face...not a good look for me!

A Quest for Balance

I forgot about my blog for a long while, what an excellent way to chronicle progress in your life. I love setting intentions, doing check points and progress reports so I will begin again.

I have many goals, the two I will focus on here for now will be fitness and hair health. I kept my hair in braids forever and it took its toll on my hair line and the overall condition of my hair. I found the Long Hair Care Forum when I was in a panic about what I should do for my hair. The board has delivered so much more than hair care tips for me. There is a definate sisterhood there, which is such a definate bonus for me.

All the BEST!
